Duloe (6 points) Liskeard II (6 points) match cancelled

Saturday 5th May - Another good win for the first team and a more encouraging performance from the seconds on a surprisingly lifeless track at Bude...great knocks by Dan Lovelock, Jimbo and Shiner, who also took a fivefor, he's on great form taking 9 wickets in two matches.

A fine performance by captain Tim Hyslop (83) in a well-fought game at Bude. Bude used their experienced slower paced bowling to good effect on a hard-looking pitch that had very little bounce. Liskeard struggled to get the ball away and after losing Joel Westlake early on had to work very hard to reach 188, with Andy Pearce ably supporting his skipper, with a quickly knocked 49, unfortunately playing, and missing, one big shot too many.

Bude got off to a good start and were 110 for 0 before a breakthrough was made. Liskeard then took several wickets in quick succesion and a reversal looked possible until young Fretwell came in and took the game away. The match had looked like a foregone conclusion at one point but became an exciting close contest in the darkening conditions with a sea mist approaching, certainly a better performance with many positives to take into Monday's fixture at Duloe.
